My father built our home on agricultural land in Dharwad, Karnataka, 15 years ago. We bought the land 20 years ago and have a copy of the sale agreement on bond paper. However, it’s a lease document. We’ve been paying taxes to the municipal corporation, have a Khata number and property ID. Many others in our area also built homes on agricultural land, and it’s now a fully residential area. But the RTC still shows the original farmer’s name. How can we convert the land to NA and get it registered in our name? We want to prove our ownership of the land and house.

I signed a contract with a developer in 2005 to build me a new flat on the same plot where my old 300 square feet flat was located. The developer promised to complete the project within a year. However, they haven’t delivered the flat yet, and they haven’t even paid me rent for alternate accommodation for the past 15 months. Despite several meetings, including one at Shri Gopal Shetty’s office in 2015, the developer is refusing to fulfill the original agreement of providing a 300 square feet flat on the same plot. Now they are offering a smaller 250 square feet flat on a different plot, which is not what I agreed to.

I recently bought a flat in Faridabad, and the builder is asking for VAT tax on top of the purchase price. Is this legal? Also, they’ve increased the area of my flat by 225 sq ft (total super area was 900 sq ft) and are now selling it to me as a “dry terrace.” This terrace is basically a shaft with one side connecting to the common gallery and the other to the common entry, and it’s adjacent to my kitchen wall. My question is, do I have to pay for the entire dry terrace, or will it be considered a common area shared by all units in the building?

The abolition of Inams in India seems to have only transferred land revenue rights to the government, leaving the land itself with the Inamdars, tenants, or laborers. Before we delve further, we have a few questions:1. Did the Inam Abolition Act apply to all types of Inams, including permanent, personal, and temple trust Inams?2. If Inams were abolished in the 1950s, how are Inamdar rights still upheld in court disputes today? A family friend recently won a case based on this.3. I know that Form 8A lists all land ownership in a village. Is there a separate register specifically for Inam lands, or is it included in Form 8A or 7/12?Thank you for your insights.
