My elderly mother-in-law (85 years old) has been living in a part of my Chennai property for years. I’ve always supported her financially, and have all the documents to prove it. My wife recently bought the house from her, and I subsequently bought it from my wife. Unfortunately, her other daughters have misled her, claiming I cheated her, and now she wants to file a case against me. Despite this, she’s still living in my house. While I understand her confusion, I’m concerned about the unfair accusations and the lack of gratitude she’s showing. Is there a legal way to ask her to leave, considering she’s clearly influenced by others and might be filing a case? I have all the necessary documents to prove the legitimacy of all transactions.

My family, practicing Buddhists, inherited ancestral land that was registered under my cousin’s name. Our grandfather and father’s names were missing from the property documents. However, we continued to possess the land. In September 2013, my cousin sold the property, and we bought it back in January 2014. We were unaware of the sale for three years and she didn’t inform us. Now, the land is officially registered in our names with the 7/12 extract.My cousin is now claiming the property and has filed a case against us under sections 156, 418, 420, 468, 471, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The case is still under investigation at the police station. Oral statements are ongoing, but not complete.I’m worried about the possibility of arrest. Should I seek bail beforehand? Could we get the property back, or should we fight the case? What are our options? My cousin is demanding a refund, and he’s named himself, us, and a witness in the case. Please advise.

My grandfather received a property from his father in 1964, documented on a simple agreement with signatures. This property includes a shop and three flats. My mother purchased one flat, and two uncles received flats as gifts. One uncle also received another property he earned himself. Four years ago, my grandfather verbally gave me the shop.
