I joined my company in January 2016 as an Assistant Manager in HR. I became pregnant in May 2016 and informed my Director in July. However, just a few days later, I was given a performance improvement plan that listed tasks typically expected of a Head of HR, a role I was never told I would be responsible for. The plan stated a performance review would take place by the end of July. My company then hired a Head of HR in late July, who was supposed to evaluate my performance, but he was asked to resign in October due to his own performance issues. Now, in my eighth month of pregnancy, I’m being pressured to resign immediately, again citing performance concerns. This all feels unfair as I had never received any performance-related feedback before my pregnancy announcement.

I’m a web designer working for a company in India. I signed a two-year contract and had to submit my original certificates for verification when I joined. I’ve been working for a private company for the past 7 years. For the last 8 months (since August 2013), I haven’t received my salary. My company paid the July 2013 salary only in January 2014. As a Director at a college for the last 8 years, I submitted my resignation on November 25th, after receiving a job offer. I joined an IT company in April 2013, signing a 2-year contract for â‚¹1 lakh. It’s ending on March 2015. For the past six months, I haven’t been assigned any projects. The company trained me for â‚¹32,000. I resigned with my last day being November 20th. They’re demanding the entire â‚¹1,32,000 for the remaining four months, even though I’m willing to pay for the training and a pro-rata amount for the remaining period. They refuse and won’t release my relieving letter until I pay, impacting my new job starting on the 24th. Is there a way to pay them now, get the letter, and then seek legal recourse for the overcharged amount? Could this affect background checks for my new company?
