As an NRI, I owned land in a good neighborhood for 3 years. Someone claimed it as theirs and put up a sign. I flew back, confirmed my documents were in order, and had the sign removed. Before leaving, my lawyer suggested an injunction to protect my property. I sold the land a month later, using my lawyer to handle the sale.
