My father purchased a plot of land, around 150 square yards, nine years ago. We paid the price in three installments, with the agreement that the original documents would be handed over after the final payment. However, after the last installment, the seller claimed the documents were lost. He continued this for a few months and then vanished to a different city, ignoring our calls. We later discovered that the land was originally allotted by the state government to a government employee, who then sold it to the person we bought from. This government employee still holds the original documents and recently sold the land again, making a General Power of Attorney (GPA) for the new buyer. We only have a signed document from the government employee and his wife. How can we legally claim ownership of the land, considering the seller has disappeared and the land was sold twice?

My family booked a flat in Lohegaon, Pune in 2015. The agreement stated the size was 700 sq ft. Now, the builder is asking for extra payment for a small 10 sq ft addition he made. He says the change was necessary because of new regulations. But the agreement doesn’t mention anything about changes or extra charges. Is the builder’s request justified? My brother and I, both over 25 years old, lost our parents last year. We’re looking to transfer their Mumbai property to our names. It’s undergoing redevelopment by a private builder, and construction might start soon. We’re wondering if the developer can transfer the property to both our names. I booked a flat two years ago and paid 80% of the cost, including a hefty down payment. I have an allotment agreement with the builder, but the project is indefinitely delayed. Now I want to cancel the booking and get a full refund. The builder is asking for the original documents before refunding. Is this safe? Namaste! I’m planning to buy a 1000 sq ft plot in Chennai. It’s part of a larger 3000 sq ft land that the owner wants to sell off in sections. He hasn’t officially subdivided the land yet, but wants me to register and then subdivide it myself. He assures me the plot has building approval. My concern is, is it safe to buy a plot that isn’t subdivided and then subdivide it later? Will this cause any issues in the future?
