Twenty years ago, my father, an agriculturist, along with his younger brother, a doctor, and elder brother, an inspector, agreed to divide their ancestral property and their individual holdings. However, while dividing the property, the doctor and inspector didn’t include their personal assets. They only divided my father’s and grandfather’s property. We lack documents for any of the property, including my father’s share, as all documents are with the inspector. They only provided us with a photocopy of the division agreement. I’ve landed a job at a new company and they need my previous work experience details. Back in 2016, I worked at a small consultancy firm. When I left, they refused to give me a relieving letter because I hadn’t completed a year there, even though I trained and handed over my work to my replacement. I had to leave because of their unfair treatment, despite serving my full 15-day notice period (it was supposed to be one month). They even withheld my last month’s salary. Is there a way I can get this letter from them now? Should I email them? Do I have legal grounds to ask for it? They did release my PF amount when I asked, would that help to prove my employment?
