I’m currently working on a temporary basis in a government department. We’re trying to get this position made permanent, but the rules are unclear and higher officials aren’t cooperating. I joined my company in January 2016 as an Assistant Manager in HR. I became pregnant in May 2016 and informed my Director in July. However, just a few days later, I was given a performance improvement plan that listed tasks typically expected of a Head of HR, a role I was never told I would be responsible for. The plan stated a performance review would take place by the end of July. My company then hired a Head of HR in late July, who was supposed to evaluate my performance, but he was asked to resign in October due to his own performance issues. Now, in my eighth month of pregnancy, I’m being pressured to resign immediately, again citing performance concerns. This all feels unfair as I had never received any performance-related feedback before my pregnancy announcement.

My elderly mother-in-law (85 years old) has been living in a part of my Chennai property for years. I’ve always supported her financially, and have all the documents to prove it. My wife recently bought the house from her, and I subsequently bought it from my wife. Unfortunately, her other daughters have misled her, claiming I cheated her, and now she wants to file a case against me. Despite this, she’s still living in my house. While I understand her confusion, I’m concerned about the unfair accusations and the lack of gratitude she’s showing. Is there a legal way to ask her to leave, considering she’s clearly influenced by others and might be filing a case? I have all the necessary documents to prove the legitimacy of all transactions.

My family, practicing Buddhists, inherited ancestral land that was registered under my cousin’s name. Our grandfather and father’s names were missing from the property documents. However, we continued to possess the land. In September 2013, my cousin sold the property, and we bought it back in January 2014. We were unaware of the sale for three years and she didn’t inform us. Now, the land is officially registered in our names with the 7/12 extract.My cousin is now claiming the property and has filed a case against us under sections 156, 418, 420, 468, 471, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The case is still under investigation at the police station. Oral statements are ongoing, but not complete.I’m worried about the possibility of arrest. Should I seek bail beforehand? Could we get the property back, or should we fight the case? What are our options? My cousin is demanding a refund, and he’s named himself, us, and a witness in the case. Please advise.

My wife filed a false dowry harassment case (498A) against me and my family on October 26th, 2016, in her hometown where her uncle is a police officer. We received a notice on December 2nd, 2016, asking us to come to the station within a few days. We’re scared to go because of her uncle’s influence.Our marriage has been difficult since the beginning (2012). Our families intervened and tried to counsel us multiple times.
