My family owns a plot of land, around 300 square meters, with a building on it in my city in Andhra Pradesh. The government is acquiring this land for a national highway project under the relevant acts. They published notices in local newspapers in May 2015 and July 2016. They haven’t taken possession yet. I objected to their initial valuation of Rs. 1,100 per square yard, arguing that the fair market value is closer to Rs. 20,000 per square yard. My objection was rejected in November 2015. I haven’t received the final award, but I hear they’ve decided on a value of just Rs. 1,100 per square yard, much lower than what I believe is fair. Should I file a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, individually or with others who are facing similar situations? Is it better to do this before or after receiving the final compensation amount? What are the likely legal expenses involved, and are there any time limits I should be aware of?

My salary account at Deutsche Bank in Bangalore was converted to a savings account after I changed jobs. They’ve now deducted money from my account, saying it’s due to a minimum balance rule. I never received any notice about this change, even though the bank claims they sent it to both my permanent and temporary addresses.
