I’ve been working in an IT multinational for 4 years now. For the past 3 years, my role, pay, and performance ratings haven’t changed, even though I’ve been trying to learn new skills in my projects. The stress is getting to me, I’m even experiencing health issues. I’ve raised these concerns with management multiple times but haven’t received any support. I resigned with a 30-day notice period, but they’re asking me to stay for 90 days based on our contract. I’m a seasoned design engineer with 15 years of experience. Back in June 2012, I joined a US-based multinational company in Bangalore, led by an NRI woman who, let’s just say, had a very particular management style. It felt like she ran the place as her own personal kingdom, without much regard for established procedures. From the start, I found it difficult to showcase my skills, constantly being assigned tasks that didn’t utilize my expertise. The lack of clear policies and her quick-to-fire approach left many experienced professionals feeling stuck.After six months, I was made a permanent employee. But the situation didn’t improve. I continued to be assigned menial tasks, and despite consistently delivering, I faced criticism without any concrete explanations. In February 2014, I suffered a severe knee injury, requiring me to take a few days off. While unable to physically be at the office, I remained connected through VPN and continued to complete my work. However, to my surprise, I was abruptly terminated on the 19th, accused of poor performance.This termination happened despite the company’s own agreement requiring them to provide a month’s notice or pay. They refused to let me discuss the situation, demanding an immediate resignation. When I refused, they terminated me. They also unfairly deducted my entire tax from my salary, despite me providing details of my investments, promising to issue a Form 16 later.The timing of this termination was particularly devastating, as I was scheduled for knee surgery on the 23rd. The company was aware of my situation, yet they terminated me before I could utilize their insurance. The sudden loss of income meant I couldn’t afford the surgery and had to cancel it.I feel this was an incredibly unfair act, and I’m seeking legal advice. I’ve tried contacting them multiple times to appeal the decision, but I received a legal notice accusing me of harassment. I’m now seeking expert advice on my options. What are my chances of successfully challenging their actions in a court of law? Are there any legal professionals in Bangalore who could take up my case? I’ve also heard about filing a writ in the High Court. Any guidance on these options would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been teaching at a school since 2009, initially on a 3-year contract. After that, I was given two more extensions, each for 2 years.
