My family has a case pending in the Chandigarh High Court since 2002. We won in both the lower courts, but the High Court hearing was postponed from November 2016 to February 2017. However, our case didn’t come up on the February 14th list. Two petitions have been filed by the opposing party, and their status is “delivered” â€“ but we have no information about their content or the case’s progress. How can I get details about these petitions and what can I do to get our case heard sooner?

My family owns a plot of land, around 300 square meters, with a building on it in my city in Andhra Pradesh. The government is acquiring this land for a national highway project under the relevant acts. They published notices in local newspapers in May 2015 and July 2016. They haven’t taken possession yet. I objected to their initial valuation of Rs. 1,100 per square yard, arguing that the fair market value is closer to Rs. 20,000 per square yard. My objection was rejected in November 2015. I haven’t received the final award, but I hear they’ve decided on a value of just Rs. 1,100 per square yard, much lower than what I believe is fair. Should I file a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, individually or with others who are facing similar situations? Is it better to do this before or after receiving the final compensation amount? What are the likely legal expenses involved, and are there any time limits I should be aware of?

My name was legally changed after college, and I updated my passport, PAN card, and driving license accordingly. But now, the RTO in Bangalore won’t issue me a Yellow Badge for a commercial driver’s license because my name on my 10th standard marksheet is different. Even the university won’t change the name on my marksheet. Since I used the same affidavit to change my passport and PAN card, why won’t they accept it now? My family moved into our new flat in Bangalore in July 2014. There are 15 other flats in the building. The builder promised to handle maintenance until December 2014, after which an Owners’ Association would take over. However, the builder never introduced us to other residents and hasn’t taken any steps to form the association. When I asked him to organize a meeting, he said it’s not his responsibility.
