My husband filed for divorce in 2015, citing Section 9 of the law. After receiving this notice, I filed a case under Section 498A for domestic violence and also sought maintenance for myself. He had been pressuring me for dowry, demanding a car, land, and gold for my younger sister. He’s shown no interest in me or our relationship, and our love life is nonexistent. My friend accused me of sending a message, but my SIM card went missing earlier and I think my enemy found it and used it against me. I didn’t hire a lawyer and explained everything to the police.
