My mother and I don’t want any share in our family house, which we only have an allotment letter for. We want to divide it equally between my two brothers. However, my younger brother refuses to give any share to my elder brother and won’t sign the property distribution papers. Is there a legal way to resolve this situation? Can the court force my brother to sign the papers? Or, can the house be registered in my mother’s name without needing my brother’s signature?

Respected Sir,I own a plot of land, around 6,500 square meters, in which an old, unused government canal (Sarkaari Kool) exists within one khasra number. I have received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Irrigation department allowing me to use the land for construction, including laying pipelines for the canal. I have completed this pipeline work.However, the development authority insists on treating my land as two separate plots – one behind the canal and one in front. I want to develop the entire land as a single plot and get a building plan approved for a mall. Could you please advise me on how to proceed in this situation?Thank you for your guidance.

My Nani has lived with my Mama since Dada passed away 8 years ago. She has 4 daughters and 2 sons. Recently, Mama took Nani to the registrar’s office and asked her to sign some papers. I booked a flat under construction and paid a booking amount of ₹9 Lakhs. After reviewing the draft agreement, I found several clauses unacceptable and the builder refused to make changes. I decided to cancel the booking. The booking form mentioned a ₹1 Lakh cancellation fee. It’s been a month since I requested cancellation, but the builder says he’ll refund only ₹8 Lakhs, deducting the ₹1 Lakh cancellation fee and the tax receipts, which haven’t been refunded by the government yet. After my husband passed away, I want to build a house on our land. The land was jointly owned by him and me.
