I booked a 600 square feet flat in Mumbai eight years ago, paying the full amount by cheque that same year. I received an allotment letter promising construction completion within 30 months, but four years have passed with no construction. Despite daily visits to the builder’s office, there was no response. Eventually, they returned my cheque but promised a new one after three months.
