After our parents passed away, my brother and I took over our family business. We used to live together in a Cantonment bungalow, leased from MES. Later, my brother started a new business and made me a 30% partner, giving his son 30% and himself 40%. But I was only a namesake partner with no actual share. We eventually separated due to disagreements, but I continued the original family business while he ran his own. I didn’t take anything when we split, not even a rupee. I joined my company three years ago. My salary was revised last year in March, including a performance bonus of â‚¹1 lakh. I’m leaving on January 31st. My company refuses to pay my bonus pro-rata, claiming it’s against their policy to give bonuses to employees leaving before a year. However, there’s no written policy document stating this, and it wasn’t mentioned in my contract. I feel frustrated because it’s my hard-earned money, and I deserve the bonus. My family and I, along with 10 other people, invested over â‚¹1 crore in a project that turned out to be a scam. Three individuals were involved. Despite filing a complaint three years ago, the police initially refused to help. Only after appealing to the PMO, CM, and CP did the DCP intervene and direct the local police to file an FIR under sections 420, 465, 468, 471, and 34 of the IPC.
