My landlord has been physically and verbally abusing me for a while now. Recently, he hit me so hard I lost hearing in my left ear. I filed a police complaint (FIR) but they haven’t taken any action. They only gave me 30 minutes to collect my belongings, leaving many things behind. The landlord then broke the lock and took everything. I’ve been renting a house for 15 months. The original agreement was for 11 months. My landlord recently raised the rent by over 15% and pressured me to sign a new agreement. He even backdated the new agreement to make it seem like I’ve only been living there for a month. Now, he’s trying to make me move out so he can get an extra month’s rent. I’m feeling really stressed out. Two families in my building keep trying to make me feel bad. They want me to clean the corridor every other day, but even when I do, they keep making rude comments in front of my friends. They’re much older than me, so it’s hard to speak up. I bought a house in August 2015. A tenant has been living there for the past 16 years.
