I bought two plots in Bhiwadi through a real estate agent, paying in cash. I later discovered the project was a scam, likely a partnership between the agent and the builder. They provided fake receipts, and when I questioned this, the agent issued refund checks and took back my originals. The checks bounced, and now the agent is gone. The person who gave me the fake receipts is still operating in Bhiwadi. I have copies of the receipts and the plot allotment letter. We were supposed to sign an agreement after I paid 40% of the amount, which I did. But now I have neither an agreement nor my original receipts. How can I recover my money from these people?
