I’m a Nursing Officer in the MNS, serving with a permanent commission. I have two attempts left for the AFCAT and CDS exams, given my age limit. Can I still take the regular examination? I retired from the Indian Navy as a Petty Officer on 31st May 2003. I was promoted to Petty Officer on 1st February 2003, but I only served for a few months in this rank before retiring. Since I didn’t complete six months in this rank, I’m currently receiving pension based on the Leading Petty Officer rank. I served in the CISF from 2007 to 2010. My probation period was from June 16, 2007, to June 16, 2009. During this time, I received three disciplinary actions for disobeying orders.One instance involved a shift from family quarters to the barracks in July 2008. Due to illness, I shifted on August 4, 2008, and provided a doctor’s note for a four-day sick leave. Despite this, the authorities found it unsatisfactory and issued a disciplinary action.On another occasion, I was charged for an accident while riding a motorcycle without a helmet, which I considered a lawful order. The punishment was a seven-day pay fine.Lastly, I was charged for requesting a written order from the shift incharge, again resulting in a seven-day pay fine. For each of these charges, I requested a formal inquiry but was denied, with the authorities stating that they have the discretion to decide whether an inquiry is conducted or not.

I was serving in the Indian Air Force as an airman. I refused my attestation and applied for discharge, but the service dismissed me instead. They gave me a “Fit for Civil Service” certificate. I refused attestation because I wasn’t allowed to continue my studies after training. The command sent a letter to the unit stating no service personnel can study for five years after training.
