A man accused me of hitting him with a stone, causing injuries and tooth loss. The police registered a case and referred him to a government hospital for examination. The hospital found he sustained the injuries in a drunken state. However, the police officer suppressed this report and filed another report claiming grievous hurt. During the trial, all witnesses turned hostile. The officer who filed the second report admitted he was not authorized to issue medical certificates. Despite submitting the government hospital’s report, the court refused to mark it as evidence or call the doctor. Ultimately, I was convicted for causing hurt. The appellate court reduced my sentence to 6 months.I have a few doubts. Firstly, isn’t the police officer’s suppression of the first medical report and filing a false report a fraud? If so, wouldn’t this make the judgment invalid?

My grandfather, who passed away years ago, owned some agricultural land in a Tripura village. He left this land to his two sons – my father and my uncle. The land was never divided between them. Recently, my uncle sold half the property to someone else, but the price he got was much higher than the remaining land’s value. Now, my father has gotten his name removed from the records of the remaining land, leaving him as the sole owner. I’m worried about getting a fair share of the land, considering the value difference. Respected Sir,My grandfather, a Bengali who migrated to India from Bangladesh in 1964 under the D.N.K project, was listed as a Khtriya (general caste) on his family migration card. However, when the Odisha government issued him a land patta in 1979, he was listed as a Namasudra (scheduled caste).
