My builder promised to hand over my flat in a new tower by last year, but hasn’t even started construction yet. Our agreement says he should pay compensation if the handover is delayed by more than 15 months, but he’s refusing. I’ve already paid half the price of the flat. Can I legally get my money back? Is this a breach of contract?

My father served in the Indian Army for 17 years, enlisting as a Sepoy in the Dogra Regiment in 1968 and later being commissioned in 1977. He was medically discharged in 1986 with a low medical category and was denied pension. He was also not given a Release Medical Board (RMB) which was mandatory at the time. Shouldn’t he be eligible for disability pension? He was removed from service due to allegations of multiple marriages. Can someone help us understand this situation?

My father and mother are alive, and we have a family property of about 4 acres inherited from my grandfather. I have built 5 houses on this land using my own savings, costing around 80 lakhs. I’m 77 years old, and in 1992, a public sector bank filed a case against my private limited company in the Bombay High Court for a loan of around 9 Lakhs. The case was dismissed in 2011 due to the bank’s absence at the final hearing. The outstanding amount in 1991 was about 2.6 Lakhs. The bank applied to revive the case in 2012, and it was moved to the Bombay City Civil Court in 2014. The case was renumbered in 2015. My company had given an equitable mortgage on its fixed assets to the bank in 1983, which is now worth about 5 Crores. Can I ask the court to release the mortgage for 2.6 Lakhs plus interest from the date the case was revived, due to the bank’s default?
