Namaste Sir,I bought a 200 square yard plot of land near Jayanti village, about 70 kilometers from Vijayawada, six years ago. Back then, it cost me Rs 80,000. I have a receipt for the payment, but the seller never handed over the property. Despite numerous calls and visits, I was given two checks after four years, and my original receipt was taken back. However, these checks bounced. The seller claimed it was due to an urgent payment, and his account was empty.After repeated attempts, he promised to pay me Rs. 2,00,000, the current government rate, but only gave me Rs. 50,000 in November 2016. He assured me the rest would be paid in subsequent months, but that never happened. The land now costs Rs 8,000 per square yard. I am working abroad on a 28-day rotation, so I haven’t been able to follow up effectively. Recently, I learned the seller has a 420 case filed against him.I feel cheated. If this seller is allowed to continue operating his property associates in Vijayawada, others might be deceived. He has expanded his business. Please advise on how to proceed in this matter.
