We were married in 2007 and enjoyed a happy life for 5 years, but sadly couldn’t have a child. My husband’s family blamed me, even though medical tests showed he was the one struggling. They pressured me to allow a second marriage, but I refused. They then sent me back to my parents’ home and in 2012, filed a case to nullify our marriage, which is still ongoing. My marriage is just six months old, and my wife and I are both Muslims. Since the wedding, she has been constantly emotionally abusing me, even saying she only married me for my high salary. My husband and I are going through a difficult separation. After discussing it, he became abusive and threatened to make life difficult if I didn’t leave our son with him. He even said he’d fight me in court. The next morning, he calmed down and agreed to a divorce, even offering custody of our son.
