A fellow student from another campus, whom I’d never met, made a comment on Facebook. I responded with sarcasm, using a rude word. He then started abusing me, so I continued my sarcastic banter, jokingly suggesting he pay my canteen bills, since his campus doesn’t have a grand inauguration like ours. He retaliated with a lengthy and racist comment. Despite his continued abuse, I turned off my notifications. Now he’s filed a case against me in the Supreme Court near his hometown.
