My marriage in June 2013 ended in September that year. I gave her a divorce according to Islamic law in January 2014, including all her due payments. However, she hasn’t withdrawn the money. My wife and I are Sunni Muslims and have been married for 3 and a half years. We have a 2-year-old son. We own a 1BHK flat in my name and a small shop jointly, both currently rented out. Namaste. My sister got married eight months ago. Her husband went to Saudi Arabia for work and has been living there since. I’m 27, my wife is 21, and we’ve been married for 8 months. We’re Muslims and have no children. My mother (54) and I live with my wife. I’m a salaried employee earning around 10,000 rupees per month. Recently, after some disagreements, my wife verbally declared Khula and Triple Talaq to her family and my mother who was present. She’s now staying with her parents and took all her belongings. My father bought a plot of land, about 4000 square feet, in 1978 and built a small house on it. He passed away in April 2006, leaving behind my mother, myself, a son, and two daughters. One daughter got married in 1981 and separated in 1983. She lived with us until 2014, but then decided to live with my other sister who was married in 1983. My mother passed away in December 2015.As a Muslim, I’d like to understand how the property should be divided according to Islamic law. What are my rights, and what are the rights of my sons?
