My mother passed away shortly after taking out an LIC life insurance policy, and I, as the nominee, filed a claim. My family and I have medical insurance from Mediassist, provided by my employer Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bangalore. We have a son (8) and a daughter (2), and my wife is expecting our third child. My Mediclaim policy has been active since 2007. This year, I sent a cheque well before the renewal deadline, and they issued a new policy. However, after the grace period ended, they informed me the cheque bounced due to a signature mismatch, even though my bank account had sufficient funds. I suspect this was done intentionally to reject my claim as a senior citizen. My appeals have gone unanswered. What legal recourse do I have? As an Indian living abroad, I applied for a term loan with Max Life through PolicyBazaar.com in April 2016. The policy and medical checkup went smoothly, but I encountered problems uploading documents. I uploaded them multiple times, but still received automated messages asking me to do so again. Despite informing PolicyBazaar and Max Life consultants about the issue, I was assured that the policy would be issued quickly. My i20 Sportz was recently in an accident, damaging the front bumper. I filed a claim with my insurance company, but they’re giving me the runaround. They say the car already had scratches and the fog lamp was loose, even though I explained that the fog lamp was screwed in because it was falling out and the bumper had a screw because it was coming loose from the corner.
