My family and I have been living in the USA for a long time. Back in 1984, I filled out a re-entry permit form from my sister’s place in Chicago, but I never received the permit. Also, my children got their Green Cards in 1996, listed as minors on their mother’s documents. They are adults now, and according to the law, their Green Cards should be activated.

My husband, an American citizen, and I got married in Delhi last month. He’s in the US Air Force and has a deployment to Turkey in October. I’m eager to visit him before he leaves, but I’m worried about the visa process taking too long. Are there any ways to expedite the process and get me to the US quickly?

Hi, I recently completed my Master’s in the UK and am working in India now. I consulted with an immigration advisor who suggested a freelancer (who claims to be a lawyer) to help me secure a UK job interview and visa. She’s asking for ₹5 lakh, promising a full refund if unsuccessful. Should I proceed? How can I verify her credibility? What should I look for in an agreement? I’d appreciate your advice.

My dad, who’s from Lithuania, is planning to move to the US to care for my grandpa. He’s applying for a green card through the ‘Sons and daughters’ category. Once he gets it, he’ll need to live in the US for 5 years to become a citizen. I’m wondering if I can apply for a green card through the same category while my dad is still on that 5-year path to citizenship, or do I have to wait until he becomes a US citizen?

Is it fair for Indian embassies and missions abroad to have varying rules and procedures for services like passport renewals, registrations, and certificates for NRIs across the world? Shouldn’t all NRIs, regardless of their location, experience a streamlined and consistent system for these essential consular services?

My US tourist visa application was rejected twice, even though I presented relevant documents. I’m an Indian citizen and my husband is a Canadian permanent resident. I need to travel to the US to take the USMLE Step 2 CS exam, which is only offered in the US. The visa officer cited Section 214(b) and mentioned my husband’s Canadian residency as a reason for denial. I applied from India both times. What should I do? I’m flying to Canada next week. Should I apply for a US visa from Canada?

My aunt passed away a year ago, and I’m getting married to her widower. It’s a cultural tradition, and I love his children as my own. He’s been a wonderful husband and father for 20 years. He’s been incredibly supportive of me and even feels like a father to my daughter. He’s 45, and I’m 25. I’m a US citizen, but I’m unsure if the consulate will approve our marriage. While age gaps are common in our culture, I’m concerned about its impact on the paperwork process.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree from RV University in Rajasthan through their distance learning program in 2008-2012. The program was recognized by the UGC at that time. However, I’m now facing issues with the Australian embassy in New Delhi as they claim the degree isn’t UGC approved. I’ve already provided my university documents, but they’re not convinced. How can I prove that my degree was UGC approved back in 2008-2012?
