I received a call from the police saying I sent an email a few months ago on a specific date. I have no memory of sending such an email and couldn’t find anything after searching. It’s possible someone used my Wi-Fi without my knowledge. The officer didn’t mention the email’s content and asked for my personal details and internet usage. They specifically asked about emails sent on that date, but I didn’t send any. I told them so, and they said if I remember anyone visiting that day or using my internet, I should contact them. They also gave me a number. What should I do next? What steps might the police take?

I messed up big time. I’ve been with my girlfriend for four years, but recently another guy entered our lives and tried to break us up. He wasn’t even really interested in her, just trying to cause trouble. Out of frustration, I created two fake Facebook profiles, one with his name and the other a made-up girl. I made them chat and took screenshots, hoping to show my girlfriend the guy’s true intentions. She then confronted him with this “evidence.” He, naturally, figured out it was all fake and is now threatening to report me for cybercrime. The worst part is, he works in intelligence and has a reputation for abusing his power. I need to clear my name and avoid legal trouble. Is what I did a serious offense? How can I protect myself?

I was working as a project manager for a private company, “martcom.co.uk,” until my manager asked me to leave on April 15, 2014, without settling my final dues. However, on February 16, 2015, an FIR was registered against me under the IT Act for data theft. They claim I used my personal email for company communication between April 15, 2013, and June 18, 2013, and that my manager accessed and controlled this email account. They also allege I accessed the company server using four dynamic IPs.I want to surrender and apply for bail. Is there a timeframe for getting bail in such a situation? A fellow student from another campus, whom I’d never met, made a comment on Facebook. I responded with sarcasm, using a rude word. He then started abusing me, so I continued my sarcastic banter, jokingly suggesting he pay my canteen bills, since his campus doesn’t have a grand inauguration like ours. I got a late-night call from an unknown number in December 2016. The caller claimed to be a police officer and said there was a complaint against my number.
