My father filed a false case against my brother and me last year in November. The FIR accused us of driving our mother to suicide, even though she passed away at my elder sister’s place, and I wasn’t even home for the past two days. My father was manipulated by some relatives into filing the case, but now he’s realized his mistake. He withdrew the case and admitted his guilt in Barasat Court. After two hearings, the case was dismissed there. However, my lawyer says a copy of the case was submitted to Barrackpore Court, and the proceedings are ongoing there for almost a year. I’m confused, as the High Court dismissed the case, why is it still going on in Barrackpore? We’re not fighting the case anymore, it’s just about getting it officially closed. What should I do?

We recently got interim bail from the Sessions Court in a case related to a false complaint filed by the owner.
