Being a second-year student from Kolkata at IHM Guwahati, I faced a terrible situation. During dinner, a senior from the local area slapped and beat me up, accusing me of taking more food. The next day, I considered filing a police complaint but was hesitant because a friend posted something inappropriate on Facebook mentioning my name. To protect him, I couldn’t go ahead. The warden, seemingly siding with the senior, then harassed me, accusing me of smoking and using drugs inside my room. He completely ignored the assault and pressured me to write a letter stating I’d face punishment for any misconduct in the hostel. When I refused and said I’d talk to the principal, the warden shifted the blame and demanded a meeting with my father. He threatened to expel me if I reported anything again, completely avoiding the issue of my harassment. I’m seeking advice on how to handle this situation, where seniors and teachers seem to be acting unjustly.

As a regular guy from Haryana, I’m struggling to understand why I’m being asked to pay more for something I haven’t done. With 50% reservation for certain communities and 10% for ex-servicemen, the recent addition of Economically Backward Caste (EBC) reservation has brought the total to 70%. Now, with the proposed increase to 20% for EBC, it’s going to be 80%. Isn’t this EBC reservation already invalidated by the Rajasthan High Court? I’m an IIT graduate, and I believe in merit. I finished my project ahead of schedule, and received my initial bill in February 2015. Since March 2015, I’ve been requesting my final bill, security deposit, and earnest money. However, the municipal council has been delaying and harassing me. My project was funded by a minority fund. They finally prepared my bill before March 2016, but refused to release it.
