My father received a share of ancestral land in Kerala after a division among his siblings. We lived in Ahmedabad, and the land was registered in his name while everyone was getting along. The original registration papers remained with my father’s siblings in Kerala. Unfortunately, things turned sour within the family. Now my father has passed away, and his siblings are holding onto the land documents, refusing to return them. I want to get those papers back and give them to my mother. What can I do in this situation? Can my uncles and aunts claim or sell my father’s land without our knowledge or permission?

I bought a flat in Kolkata in 2014 using a home loan. The builder changed the building plan, and now the bank needs a revised final plan.My problem is:1. The bank approved the loan amount but hasn’t released the whole amount because of some document issues. However, they’re deducting EMI on the full loan amount. What should I do?2. The agreement says the super built-up area is 900 square feet, including a 20% common area. But when I measured the actual space, the carpet area is only around 500 square feet, and the plan shows 530 square feet.

I rented a flat in Somanath Apartment in May 2013. The owner bought it in November 2012. In April 2015, KSFC came to the apartment and put up a possession notice. The builder hadn’t repaid a loan taken in February 2006. The builder had sold the flat to another builder in February 2011 without telling KSFC. KSFC registered the loan against the property in May 2013. They didn’t do anything for seven years before that. Now they’re saying the loan was for Gauri Apartment. Can KSFC take possession of the flat? What are my rights, and who can I file a case against?

My wife has a sister and a brother. After my father-in-law passed away in 2012, we discovered that he had distributed his land unevenly. While my sister-in-law received 10 acres and my brother-in-law received 15 acres, my wife received only 4 acres. My father-in-law kept 7 acres for himself, but he had verbally promised my wife an additional 2 acres from this land. Now, my brother-in-law is refusing to honor this promise, claiming that my father-in-law had debts. We, as a Hindu family, are willing to share the debts proportionally to the land distribution, but we insist on receiving the promised 2 acres.
