My family is facing a complex legal issue involving property inheritance. My grandfather, who passed away recently, left behind two houses. He gave one to his eldest daughter, “A”, and the other to his three daughters, “B”, “C”, and “E”. Unfortunately, “A” has passed away, and her son, “P”, who is a lawyer, is claiming his mother’s share in the second house. He sent a person named “Z” to “C” and “E”, and “Z” convinced them to sign a document stating that my grandfather had only two daughters, “C” and “E”, and that “E” was selling his share to “C”. This document also mentions that my grandfather did not write a will. We later realized this was a trap set by “P”.We have a valid will written by my grandfather, but this document is causing major problems. Can we rectify the errors in the registration document? I started working as an accountant two months ago. Last month, they didn’t pay my full salary, saying I had to finish all my tasks first. Four months ago, I had a small accident. My car’s back door brushed against a motorcycle, causing the rider to fall. I took him to the government hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries. I offered to pay for the damage to his motorcycle, but his relatives arrived and kept me waiting for hours without revealing their demands. Feeling unsafe, I left. A few days later, traffic police visited and asked me to come to the station with my vehicle. They completed some formalities like getting clearance from the RTO and made me sign a bond for my vehicle’s release. They said I just have to pay a fine in court when they call me again. I’m a government employee in Odisha. I submitted an SC caste certificate during my job application but was selected under the unreserved category. My grandfather’s caste, Namasudra (a Scheduled Caste), is mentioned in the government’s RoR patta. However, I’m a Bengali settler, my grandfather migrated from Bangladesh.
