My divorce case in Bangalore is dragging on. I filed it a year ago, and even though the court sent notices to her through her home state court, there’s no response. My lawyer wants to publish a notice in the paper, but the judge won’t allow it, citing some High Court order. I’m not sure I believe that, as it seems like a common practice elsewhere. My lawyer is now suggesting sending a warrant or getting an order from the High Court, but I’m hesitant about both. What are my options?

I’m a Hindu woman from Maharashtra. In 2012, I married a man from the same caste in Madhya Pradesh. We were from different backgrounds and faced cultural differences, leading to our separation within two months of marriage. We signed a separation agreement on stamp paper before going to the village council. Both of us moved on with our lives.
