My university in Uttar Pradesh gave me my degree and marksheet with the wrong surname in 2005. Now, after 15 years, this mistake has come to light as my US visa application was rejected. I contacted the college, but they directed me to the university. I’ve been personally visiting the university for the last 5 months, but they keep asking me to contact someone else. I had my two-wheeler stolen in April and filed an FIR at the local police station. They transferred the case to Karkarduma Court in New Delhi as an “Untraced Vehicle” in May. It’s been over a month, and I haven’t received the final Untraced Report from the court. The court staff mentioned a new procedure where I’d receive a notification on my phone and email, but I haven’t got anything. My insurance company needs this report for my claim. I’m a doctor, having completed my MBBS in Andhra Pradesh. My family moved to Odisha in 1989 and I’ve had my voter ID and Aadhaar card there ever since. As a hosteller throughout school and college, I couldn’t get a permanent residence proof in AP. Can I apply for an Odisha domicile certificate? My friend’s brother-in-law filed a case against us (392) in June 2008. We’ve been attending court hearings in Kurla, Mumbai since the chargesheet in late 2009. For the past three hearings, my friend and I have been unable to attend due to work commitments (I’m in Kolkata).
