My wife and I have been living apart for the past six months, but we haven’t formally sought a divorce. Due to health concerns, she left our daughter with her mother, who lives around 900 kilometers away. I tried to convince her to bring our daughter back, but she refused. My daughter has been living away from both of us for over a year. I traveled to her mother’s place and brought her home. My family has been renting out a commercial property in South Mumbai for the past 8 years under the ‘pagdi’ system. In 2012, a builder approached us for redevelopment. He promised to pay monthly rent for temporary accommodation until our new commercial space was ready, and we even signed a registered agreement. Initially, he issued a year’s worth of rent cheques, but after that, he stopped paying, claiming financial difficulties. This has been going on for three years now. I moved from Chennai to Indirapuram, Ghaziabad in July 2015. My landlord in Chennai received my notice to vacate in March 2015, and I moved out on June 30th. She only returned â‚¹4,500 of my deposit, claiming I only paid â‚¹30,000 as advance, not the â‚¹40,000 stated in the agreement. Dear Advisor,My brand new car was stolen just two weeks after I bought it. I have insurance with an IDV of 6.5 lakhs. The court process has caused a delay in submitting the required documents. In the meantime, the insurance company sent a letter saying they’ve closed my claim. I called them and explained the court situation, requesting them to keep the claim open. However, I haven’t submitted any written documentation yet. Because of this delay, the insurance company is deducting 10% from my IDV.Is this a valid deduction based on their rules?
