My parents got married in 1992. Sadly, my dad became mentally unwell around 2003-2004 and has been receiving treatment for his condition. During this time, my uncle sold our family business without my father’s consent, and the remaining property is now under my dad’s name. He’s been physically abusing my mother and me, even threatening our lives. My family follows Hindu customs. My father owned three properties. He gifted the first to my wife a long time ago, and the second to my brother just before he passed away. My brother has never been a good son, and he and his wife even mistreated my parents. They never helped my parents when they were sick or needed support. I’ve been working at a private IT company in Bangalore for the past 8 months. When I joined, I had 5 other job offers, but I chose this one because it’s a product-based company and I thought I’d be secure for at least 3 years. Now, after 8 months, they’re telling me the company is doing well financially and I need to leave within a month! We’re finally getting the keys to our new flat this month! But we’ve received property tax bills for the past two years, and the builder wants us to pay them. My family booked a flat in 2013, but we haven’t received possession yet. In 2015, the builder gave us a cheque that bounced. We sent a legal notice but were promised payment, so we didn’t pursue it further. However, the builder hasn’t paid, and we even filed a police complaint with others.
