I received â‚¹55,000 in cash as a token amount for two plots of land. I wrote “token advance towards sale consideration of…” on a plain paper and signed it. We had only verbal agreements about the sale. Now, I want to back out of the deal and offered to return the money. But the seller refused and sent me a legal notice claiming an agreement exists. What are my options? Is that plain paper legally binding? Can he pay stamp duty later to make it official?

My tenant signed an 11-month lease agreement four years ago. The agreement has now expired, and he has vacated three out of the four rooms. He’s still occupying one room without a new agreement and has sublet it to someone else. He hasn’t paid rent for this room for the past five months. If I allow him to stay for another six months, can I file a case against him after that? I want to give him six more months because he requested it.

As a government employee, I’d love to share my knowledge by teaching students at different schools. I’d even be happy to receive a small honorarium for my time.
