1. State the Code

Section 209 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) deals with the offense of “Dishonestly making false claims in Court”.

This section states that whoever, with intent to deceive, makes any false claim in any Court, knowing it to be false, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
