My parents got married in 1991 and I was born the next year. Sadly, they divorced in 1994 and my father passed away in 2000. My mother remarried in 1998, and I live with her. I am now 23 years old. My grandmother owns all the property, but she registered it in my uncle’s name, not mine. Can I still claim my father’s property? Do I have any rights to it?

As your father passed away in 2000, and you were born in 1992, you are a Class I legal heir under the Hindu Succession Act, 1956. However, as your grandmother registered the property in your uncle’s name, you may need to establish a claim through a legal process by proving your father’s ownership and challenging the registration.
