Under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, your neighbor must obtain permission from the municipal corporation before demolishing any shared wall. He must also ensure proper structural support and safety measures during demolition and reconstruction, to prevent damage to your property. You can file a complaint with the local authorities if he fails to do so, or consult a lawyer to explore legal options for protecting your property.
