My mother and I live in a home legally owned by my grandmother, my father’s mother. My father works in a different state. However, my uncles, my grandmother, and my aunt and her husband constantly harass us. We’ve lived here for over 8 years, and it feels like we have no freedom. They interfere in everything, and even threaten to throw us out. Is there any way to stop this harassment and find peace?

Under Indian law, you can seek legal recourse to stop the harassment. Since you’ve resided in the property for over eight years, you may have tenancy rights, which could provide legal protection. You can file a complaint with the police or approach a court for an injunction against harassment and threats.
