My father passed away three years ago after struggling with depression. He took early retirement from the Navy and bought some land from my uncle. The property was registered half in my uncle’s name and half in his wife’s. Now, my uncle’s wife has made it very difficult for us to access our property by providing a tiny, unusable road for entry and exit. What can we do to resolve this situation and ensure proper access to our land?

Under Indian law, you have a right to access your land, and your uncle’s wife’s actions are likely obstructing this right. You can file a lawsuit seeking a permanent easement for a suitable access road, citing the obstruction and your legal right to use your property.
