How To Apply For Renewal Of Driver’s Licence

To renew your driver’s license, you can choose between online and offline methods. 

Online Process

  1. Visit the Parivahan Sewa website: Go to the official site of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
  2. Select Services: Click on “Online Services” and choose “Driving Licence Related Services.”
  3. Choose Your State: Select your state from the drop-down menu.
  4. Apply for Renewal: Click on “Apply for DL Renewal.”
  5. Read Instructions: Review the instructions carefully and click “Continue.”
  6. Fill Application Form: Enter your Driving License Number, Date of Birth, and complete the captcha.
  7. Select Required Services: Choose “Renewal” from the options provided.
  8. Provide Details: Fill in the necessary personal and vehicle information.
  9. Upload Documents: Attach required documents, including a recent photograph and digital signature.
  10. Make Payment: Pay the renewal fee online and save the acknowledgment receipt.
  11. Receive License: Your renewed license will be mailed to your registered address.

Offline Process

  1. Go to your Regional Transport Office (RTO).
  2. Complete the renewal application form.
  3. Provide your expired license, photographs, and proof of age and address.
  4. Make the required payment (typically around ₹200).
  5. If necessary, book a slot for a driving or medical test.

What Documents Are Required For Offline Driver’s License Renewal Process? 

To renew your driver’s license offline, you will need the following documents:

  1. Expired Driving License: Submit your current or expired license.
  2. Application Form (Form 2): This can be obtained from your local RTO or online.
  3. Address Proof: Acceptable documents include a Passport, Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, or Voter ID.
  4. Age Proof: Bring an education ir birth certificate.
  5. Passport Size Photographs
  6. Medical Fitness Declaration (Form 1A): Required for transport vehicle drivers and seniors.

If renewing from a different state, include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the previous RTO.
