We’ve been tenants in this chawl for over 60 years. There’s a dispute with our landlord and the neighboring building over encroached land, ongoing since 2011. The BMC has demolished the adjacent building 5-7 times, each time sending debris crashing onto our roofs, severely damaging our home. Despite repeated complaints, they continue this destructive approach, seemingly at the landlord’s behest to force us out. We urgently need help as the BMC is likely to demolish the building again.

Under Indian law, you have the right to peaceful enjoyment of your tenancy. The BMC’s actions, causing repeated damage and potentially endangering your home, violate this right. You can approach the court for an injunction restraining the demolition and seek compensation for damages.
