Since the Gujarat Land Ceiling Act didn’t allow daughters to inherit ancestral property, and the Hindu Succession Amendment Act of 2005 gave them equal rights, can daughters now claim a share in property under the Land Ceiling Act, similar to sons?

The Gujarat Land Ceiling Act’s restrictions on inheritance by daughters are superseded by the Hindu Succession Amendment Act of 2005. While the Land Ceiling Act may still apply to the overall size of the property, daughters can now claim an equal share within the permissible limit under the 2005 Act.
