Namaste! I’m the younger daughter, and my elder sister and I bought a property for our father. He made the initial payment. My husband, brother-in-law, and in-laws are curious about the property. Do they have a right to ask about it? I believe as long as my sister and I are paying the loan, nobody else should be involved. Could you please clarify this for me? Thanks, Yadavi.

Under Indian law, the property legally belongs to your father since he made the initial payment. However, as you and your sister are paying the loan, you both have a right to the property as well. Your husband, brother-in-law, and in-laws do not have any legal right to inquire about the property or its ownership.
