My wife, son, mother, and younger brother’s family (wife and son) live together. However, constant arguments over small matters with my brother and his family have become unbearable. My mother, who owns the house, and I want them to move out. We’re willing to buy a separate two-bedroom apartment for them, but my brother refuses to cooperate. What legal options do we have to get them to move out?

Under Indian law, your mother, as the owner of the property, has the right to decide who resides in her house. Since she wishes them to move out, she can legally request them to do so. However, if they refuse, she can file a civil suit for eviction.
