My husband owns a property in Noida, but he’s out of India for work. We got provisional possession, but the registration hasn’t happened because of the Okhla bird sanctuary case. Now, the builder is restarting the registration process. What are my options to get the property registered, and if I can’t, what are the holding charges I’ll need to pay?

Since your husband is out of India, you’ll need a power of attorney authorizing you to register the property. If you can’t get it registered, you’ll be liable for holding charges as per the builder’s agreement. These charges are usually calculated based on the property’s carpet area and vary from builder to builder.
