My father, who sadly passed away, had three sons, one who is no longer with us, and two daughters, including me. He owned a house worth roughly 3-4 Lakhs, but didn’t leave a will. My younger brother is currently living there and wants ownership. What is my rightful share in the property as a daughter?

As per the Hindu Succession Act, you are entitled to an equal share of the property with your surviving brother, as your deceased brother’s share would be divided among his legal heirs. The property will be divided equally among the surviving three legal heirs, meaning each of you would receive approximately 1/3rd of the property value.
