My father passed away in 2001 when I was just a year old. He had four siblings and six close cousins. We have ancestral land, about 35 acres on the outskirts of town, that needs to be divided equally among the eleven of us. However, a few years ago, my grandfather’s sister claimed her rights to the property and filed a case in the district court. The issue is, my uncles deliberately excluded my father, me, and my mother from the proceedings. They clearly intended to cheat us out of our rightful share. What legal steps can I take against them?

You can challenge the previous court decision based on the grounds of non-disclosure and unfair exclusion. You can file an appeal against the previous order, arguing that your father and you were not properly represented and that you were deprived of your rightful share. You can also file a separate suit for partition of the ancestral property, claiming your rightful share.
