My father has four sisters, and I have one sister. We have ancestral land, about 3 acres, that needs to be divided amongst all of us. My father’s sisters and my sister are all married. I’m curious about how the land will be divided, and if my wife would have any claim to the portion I inherit.

Under the Hindu Succession Act, your father’s sisters and your sister are all legal heirs to the ancestral land. The land will be divided equally among all the heirs, including your father’s sisters, your sister, and you. Your wife would not have a claim to the ancestral property unless she is specifically included as a beneficiary in your father’s will.
