My family bought a property in 1998, relying on old Urdu documents from 1951 and 1967. These documents show the original owner and mention the adoption of a child in 1967. The owner sadly passed away in 1975, leaving a will transferring the property to her brother-in-law. Now, 40 years later, this will has surfaced in court. We were unaware of this will and sold the property in 2015. Could this situation affect us, the previous owners, and the current owner?
Best Answer
Yes, this situation could affect both the previous owners and the current owner. The will, if legally valid and properly executed, could be used to claim the property. The previous owners could be held liable for selling a property that wasn’t theirs to sell, and the current owner could face losing their property.
